It's easy to get to and from our city. We're conveniently located 25 miles east of California's capitol and about halfway between San Francisco and Lake Tahoe. Folsom Lake State Recreation Area is the most popular multi-use, year-round unit in the California State Park System. This 18,000-acre park is a great place to fish, hike, camp, picnic, ride horseback, water ski, boat, swim, and study nature. Those who take their outdoor adventures to greater heights will enjoy quick access to Tahoe ski resorts and camping and hiking in the Sierra Nevadas.

As the sole hospital serving Folsom and the foothills communities, Mercy Hospital of Folsom is the primary healthcare resource for a population of more than 100,000 residents - a population that is expected to increase by nearly 50% over the next 10 years. During the last several years as the population has grown, Mercy Hospital of Folsom has experienced a dramatic increase in demand for services. In response to this growth, the hospital has added a fourth operating room; expanded its Family Birth Center to include two new labor, delivery and recovery rooms, a 10-bed maternal newborn unit, and a new 10-bed newborn nursery; and is in the midst of expanding its rehabilitation and occupational medicine programs.

Mercy Hospital of Folsom has been, and will continue to be, in an expansion state as we grow to keep pace with the needs of the community and address the lack of acute care emergency capacity and capability.



Currently, Mercy is constructing a new state-of-the-art emergency department. When complete in late 2008, the new facility will serve as a benchmark for the region offering needed space and advanced new technology for fast and effective treatment now and for generations to come.
Hand-in-hand with the new Emergency Department, Mercy Folsom is finalizing a $6.4 million investment in digitally-compatible diagnostic imaging technology that will assist ED physicians in making rapid diagnoses. The investment includes state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging tools, such as a 64-slice CT scanner, nuclear medicine/Computed Tomography (CT) system, 4D ultrasound and more.
Once the Cummings Emergency Pavilion is complete, Mercy Folsom will begin construction on the second phase of our expansion, a 21-bed Telemetry/Post Critical Care Unit.
