Contractors, building owners, architects and specifiers have trusted Firestone Building Products as the leading, single source for superior commercial roofing systems for nearly 30 years.
Today, we operate 21 manufacturing facilities throughout North America, producing single-ply and asphalt-based roofing membranes, polyiso insulation, and a full line of roofing accessories. From research and development through product manufacturing, we follow stringent quality control guidelines to ensure each component of a Firestone Roofing System meets or exceeds industry standards. And, our environmental policy impacts our commitment to quality manufacturing.
In addition to superior roofing products, we offer installation expertise and product support through our contractor services department and a worldwide network of roofing contractors, distributors, and field sales representatives.
The strength of our waterproofing membranes extends beyond the commercial roofing industry to specialty products including masonry waterproofing and liners for golf courses and decorative ponds, agricultural ponds and canals. Firestone also produces polyiso sheathing insulation for the residential construction market.
In August 1900, Harvey S. Firestone founded The Firestone Tire & Rubber Company in Akron, Ohio. Through the years and due to an increasing demand for its products, Firestone expanded the operation to other locations including Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America. On the other side of the world, Shojiro Ishibashi created Bridgestone Tire Company Ltd. (later renamed Bridgestone Corporation). Eventually, he constructed the first plant outside of Japan and in 1988 the company he founded united with Firestone, forming the largest tire and rubber company in the world.
Although primarily known for its tires, Bridgestone Americas (BSA) is an industry leader in many other product lines, including building and industrial products, synthetic polymers, natural rubber, and fibers and textiles. Bridgestone Firestone Diversified Products (BFDP), which represents the non-tire businesses of BSA, is headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana, and employs nearly 10,000 teammates.
